En una historia de acción y aventuras que se extiende por todo el mundo, los dos van en busca de “el mayor tesoro jamás encontrado” y, al mismo tiempo, siguen las pistas que pueden llevarlos al hermano perdido de Nathan.

Uncharted, la película: análisis de su primer trailer. ¿Es canon o no?
Parece mentira, pero Uncharted finalmente va a estrenar su película. Hasta el momento habíamos visto algunas imágenes del set, otras oficiales, pero nada en movimiento. Pero hoy, cuando Sony Pictures nos sorprendió a todos y todas con el primer trailer, uno bastante largo que pueden ver más abajo y con varios detalles para analizar.
Primero arranquemos con los datos oficiales, para entrar en contexto. Uncharted: Fuera del Mapa, según Cines Argentinos, se estrena el próximo 17 de febrero de 2022, y tendrá a Tom Holland y Mark Wahlberg encarnando a unos jóvenes Nathan Drake y Sully, en una aventura previa los acontecimientos vistos en los seis videojuegos canon de la saga. ¿Pero es canon?
No les voy a mentir, siempre creí que sí, o por lo menos eso habían dado a entender desde la productora con las diferentes informaciones, pero la verdad que la película dirigida por Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland – Venom) y escrita por Art Marcum y Matt Holloway (colaboradores en Iron-Man) parece querer reescribir la historia que conocemos desde hace 10 años.
Problemas de continuidad o reescritura del pasado
Y ustedes me dirán: «Uncharted tiene más de 10 años, salió en 2007″, y tienen razón. Pero la verdad es que el pasado de Nathan y Sully recién comenzamos a verlo en Uncharted 3, lanzado en 2011 en PlayStation 3 y luego remasterizado para la consola siguiente.
Supuestamente se habían conocido en las calles de Colombia, luego de que un adolescente Nathan le intentara robar la billetera a Sully. Pero el trailer que les dejamos arriba se olvida de eso y coloca el encuentro de ambos personajes en una fiesta. Por lo que tenemos que entender que esta adaptación no busca ser canon, como sí pasaba con la película de Assassin’s Creed, por ejemplo.
Pero los problemas de continuidad no terminan ahí, ya que también pudimos ver una escena de acción en un avión casi calcada de la tercera entrega de la saga. ¿Es posible que ambos protagonistas se conozcan en diferentes oportunidades? ¿Qué tantas chances hay que de que te tiren de un avión entre cajas de carga dos veces en tu vida y vivas para contar las coincidencias? Imaginamos que ninguna.
¿Y Chloe Frazer? La colega de Nathan y Sully es otro personaje del videojuego que tendrá su encarnación en la gran pantalla, a manos de la actriz Sophia Ali. La ladrona que conocimos en la segunda entrega (2009) y que luego protagonizó su propia aventura en 2017 con The Lost Legacy, había tenido su origen en un comic de 2012 en el que los tres se conocían durante la búsqueda de la legendaria Sala Ámbar. Y aunque acá no sabemos cómo será la relación, imaginamos que también tendrá su reinterpretación.
Sería ideal que pronto, el director y Sony Pictures, aclaren el tema de la continuidad, ya que en la previa siempre se entendió a esta película como parte del canon de la saga de PlayStation. Lo que no estaría sucediendo.
Sinopsis y un hermano que vive desapareciendo
«Uncharted nos presenta a un joven, astuto y carismático, Nathan Drake (Holland) en su primera aventura como cazatesoros con su ingenioso compañero Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Wahlberg). En una épica aventura de acción que se extiende por todo el mundo, ambos se embarcan en una peligrosa búsqueda por el mayor tesoro nunca antes encontrado, al tiempo que rastrean las claves que les podrían conducir al hermano de Nathan, perdido hace ya mucho tiempo«, dice la descripción oficial del film.
Y es que, según parece, también se inspirará mucho en la cuarta entrega de la saga (2016), en la que nos enteramos que Nathan tenía un hermano que creía muerto. Acá, nuevamente jugando con la continuidad, la película girará entorno a su búsqueda.
Es que en Uncharted 4 nos habían contado que Nathan creyó muerto a Sam tras escapar de una cárcel. Pero acá nos dan a entender que anteriormente también estuvo desaparecido, por lo que el embrollo canónico que tenemos en estos momentos es realmente impresionante.
¿Veremos aparecer, finalmente, a Sam en la película? En la saga de PlayStation lo encarnó Troy Baker, el mismo que le dio vida a Joel en The Last of Us, pero en el reparto del film no tenemos pistas al respecto. Recordemos que en el set estuvo presente Nolan North, Nathan en el videojuego, por lo que tal vez debamos esperar alguna sorpresa más de acá a febrero de 2022.

Lo demás está a la vista en el trailer. Uncharted: Fuera del Mapa nos meterá en una aventura que recorrerá el planeta en busca de un tesoro, muy en consonancia con la saga y con su principal referente cinematográfico: Indiana Jones.
Si terminará gustando a los fans del juego es medio difícil de saber, pero creo que será vital que aclaren el problema de continuidad en el que se metieron. ¿Es parte del canon? ¿Es una reimaginación de sus orígenes?
Las cartas están sobre la mesa. Tom Holland, en pleno auge gracias a Spider-Man, parece una buena elección para protagonizar la aventura. Y Mark Wahlberg, que hace una década sonaba para hacer de Nathan, no parece desencantar como Sully. Habrá que ver cómo llevan el personaje de Chloe a manos de Sophia Ali, y qué tan parecido será el personaje encarnado por Antonio Banderas a los villanos de la franquicia. Como película de acción seguramente cumpla, no sabemos si como adaptación. ¿Ustedes qué dicen?
