Scene​ ​2​ ​–​ ​Kyrill​ ​:​ ​A​ ​complicated​ ​answer

“​And?​”​ ​Kyrill​ ​asks​ ​him​ ​again​ ​in​ ​flat​ ​tone,​ ​while​ ​the​ ​man​’​s​ ​expression​ ​is​ ​still​ ​blank.

“​…​I​’​ll​ ​tell​ ​them​ ​that​ ​the​ ​whore​ ​kisses​ ​that​ ​mysterious​ ​man,​ ​and​ ​he​ ​falls​ ​on​ ​the​ ​ground.​ ​He​ ​is​ ​the​ ​body.​”

The​ ​answer​ ​is​ ​correct,​ ​just​ ​what​ ​Kyrill​ ​has​ ​compelled​ ​the​ ​man​ ​to​ ​say​ ​so.​ ​There​’​s​ ​nothing​ ​else​ ​he​ ​needs​ ​from​ ​him,​ ​so​ ​he​ ​lets​ ​the​ ​man​ ​go.

Compulsion​ ​ability​ ​has​ ​come​ ​in​ ​handy​ ​when​ ​an​ ​unexpected​ ​situation​ ​has​ ​occurred.​ ​It​ ​makes​ ​him​ ​feel​ ​in​ ​control​ ​and​ ​even​ ​desire​ ​for​ ​it.​ ​However,​ ​much​ ​to​ ​his​ ​disappointment,​ ​compulsion​ ​can​ ​be​ ​used​ ​on​ ​humans​ ​only.

Kyrill​ ​turns​ ​his​ ​eyes​ ​back​ ​to​ ​look​ ​at​ ​the​ ​body​ ​again.​ ​She​ ​is​ ​lying​ ​still​ ​on​ ​the​ ​ground.​ ​Her​ ​body​ ​is​ ​covered​ ​with​ ​so​ ​much​ ​blood​ ​that​ ​he​ ​can​’​t​ ​even​ ​see​ ​her​ ​face​ ​clearly.​ ​Everything​ ​around​ ​her​ ​has​ ​turned​ ​into​ ​redness.

Red.

The​ ​color​ ​of​ ​his​ ​kind.

This​ ​female​ ​human​ ​is​ ​already​ ​dead.​ ​She​’​s​ ​just​ ​another​ ​piece​ ​of​ ​meat.​ ​He​ ​doesn​’​t​ ​have​ ​any​ ​sympathy​ ​for​ ​humans,​ ​so​ ​he​ ​could​ ​have​ ​just​ ​left​ ​the​ ​body​ ​like​ ​this.​ ​No​ ​need​ ​to​ ​bother​ ​compelling​ ​those​ ​witnesses​ ​either.​ ​Unfortunately,​ ​it​ ​is​ ​not​ ​that​ ​simple.

Her​ ​blood​ ​contains​ ​something​ ​else.​ ​Something​ ​greater​ ​than​ ​anything​ ​he​ ​has​ ​ever​ ​known​ ​and​ ​it​ ​is​ ​not​ ​for​ ​disclosure.

She​ ​can​’​t​ ​be​ ​found.

Kyrill​ ​takes​ ​his​ ​phone​ ​out​ ​of​ ​the​ ​pocket,​ ​and​ ​dial​ ​the​ ​first​ ​and​ ​only​ ​number​ ​in​ ​the​ ​contact​ ​list.​ ​He​ ​has​ ​to​ ​admit​ ​that​ ​all​ ​these​ ​useful​ ​electronics​ ​are​ ​quite​ ​fascinating.

‘​What​’​s​ ​wrong?​’​ ​Ty​ ​answers​ ​the​ ​call​ ​almost​ ​immediately.​ ​His​ ​curious​ ​tone​ ​is​ ​understandable.​ ​It​ ​is​ ​known​ ​that​ ​Kyrill​ ​is​ ​not​ ​someone​ ​who​ ​starts​ ​a​ ​conversation,​ ​and​ ​he​ ​doesn​’​t​ ​ask​ ​for​ ​help​ ​either,​ ​unless​ ​he​ ​is​ ​in​ ​serious​ ​crisis​ ​situation.

“​There​’​s​ ​a​ ​body.​ ​We​ ​need​ ​to​ ​get​ ​rid​ ​of​ ​it.​”

‘​Why?​ ​Can​’​t​ ​you​ ​just​ ​leave​ ​it​ ​the​ ​way​ ​it​ ​is?​’

“​No,​ ​I​ ​can​’​t.​ ​It​’​s​ ​complicated.​”

All​ ​of​ ​sudden,​ ​the​ ​body​ ​on​ ​the​ ​ground​ ​has​ ​started​ ​to​ ​glow.​ ​Kyrill​ ​steps​ ​back​ ​in​ ​surprise.

What​ ​the​ ​hell​ ​is​ ​going​ ​on?

The​ ​glowing​ ​light​ ​keeps​ ​getting​ ​brighter​ ​and​ ​brighter​ ​while​ ​his​ ​mind​ ​is​ ​all​ ​blank.​ ​There​ ​is​ ​no​ ​answer​ ​for​ ​what​ ​is​ ​happening​ ​right​ ​now.

A​ ​few​ ​seconds​ ​later,​ ​the​ ​body​ ​has​ ​just​ ​suddenly​ ​vanished​ ​before​ ​his​ ​eyes.

Kyrill​’​s​ ​puzzled​ ​gaze​ ​still​ ​locks​ ​on​ ​where​ ​the​ ​body​ ​was​—​now​ ​an​ ​empty​ ​ground.​ ​The​ ​body​ ​is​ ​gone,​ ​leaving​ ​a​ ​large​ ​amount​ ​of​ ​redness​ ​behind.

‘​Kyrill?​’​ ​Ty​ ​is​ ​still​ ​on​ ​the​ ​line.​ ​His​ ​curious​ ​tone​ ​has​ ​turned​ ​suspicious.​ ​‘​Hey,​ ​say​ ​something.​ ​Are​ ​you​ ​still​ ​there?​’

“​Yeah.​”​ ​Kyrill​ ​finally​ ​answers​ ​back.​ ​No​ ​matter​ ​what​ ​happens,​ ​it​’​s​ ​not​ ​a​ ​good​ ​idea​ ​to​ ​leave​ ​Ty​ ​suspicious​ ​about​ ​something.

‘​Why​ ​quiet​ ​all​ ​of​ ​sudden?​’

He​ ​doesn​’​t​ ​know​ ​what​ ​has​ ​just​ ​happened​ ​to​ ​the​ ​body.​ ​But​ ​he​ ​knows​ ​that​ ​informing​ ​Ty​ ​about​ ​it​ ​is​ ​the​ ​right​ ​thing​ ​to​ ​do.​ ​After​ ​all,​ ​we​ ​are​ ​serving​ ​the​ ​same​ ​purpose​ ​of​ ​coming​ ​here.

Kyrill​ ​steps​ ​closer​ ​to​ ​the​ ​blood​ ​and​ ​looks​ ​into​ ​that​ ​deep​ ​red​ ​on​ ​the​ ​ground.

“​Nothing.​ ​I​ ​was​ ​just​ ​distracted​ ​by​ ​something.​”

‘​Are​ ​you​ ​sure?​’

“​Yes.​”

‘​Okay.​ ​What​ ​about​ ​the​ ​body?​ ​How​ ​do​ ​we​ ​get​ ​rid​ ​of​ ​it?​’

“​It​’​s​ ​not​ ​a​ ​problem​ ​anymore.​ ​I​ ​took​ ​care​ ​of​ ​it.​”​ ​He​ ​answers​ ​quickly​ ​and​ ​then​ ​hangs​ ​up.​ ​This​ ​conversation​ ​leads​ ​to​ ​nowhere​ ​anyway.

Kyrill​ ​doesn​’​t​ ​know​ ​why​ ​he​ ​lied.​ ​There​ ​is​ ​something​ ​about​ ​this​ ​whole​ ​mess​ ​that​ ​he​ ​wants​ ​to​ ​solve​ ​alone.​ ​He​ ​might​ ​have​ ​figured​ ​out​ ​what​ ​made​ ​the​ ​body​ ​disappeared,​ ​but​ ​it​’​s​ ​just​ ​a​ ​theory.

Whatever​ ​it​ ​was,​ ​it​ ​helped​ ​him.

Dealing​ ​with​ ​human​ ​body​ ​in​ ​this​ ​unfamiliar​ ​society​ ​is​ ​not​ ​something​ ​that​ ​he​ ​has​ ​time​ ​to​ ​spare​ ​for.​ ​He​ ​has​ ​wasted​ ​so​ ​much​ ​time​ ​already.​ ​The​ ​great​ ​chaos​ ​is​ ​approaching​ ​closer​ ​and​ ​closer.​ ​He​ ​has​ ​to​ ​do​ ​what​ ​needs​ ​to​ ​be​ ​done;​ ​otherwise​ ​chaos​ ​would​ ​turn​ ​into​ ​destruction.

Kyrill​’​s​ ​phone​ ​vibrates.​ ​The​ ​screen​ ​shows​ ​that​ ​he​’​s​ ​got​ ​a​ ​text​ ​from​ ​Ty.

Ty:​ ​Have​ ​you​ ​found​ ​ityet?

A​ ​simple​ ​question,​ ​with​ ​a​ ​complicated​ ​answer.

Kyrill​ ​sighs​ ​a​ ​little​ ​and​ ​types​ ​the​ ​answer​ ​back​ ​to​ ​him.

Kyrill:​ ​No.

Again,​ ​he​ ​lied.
